Nervous about your coming nuptials?
To be sure you don’t end up with that dreaded Memoirs of a Geisha look on your big day, celebrity makeup artist Lianne Farbes gives us five tips to make sure your fabulosity translates to your wedding album.
Plan, plan, plan – “Do your research. Most makeup artists have websites and all of their professional work experience including work samples on the web. When you are ready, ask them for a trial so you can see how you like the work.”
Get beauty treatments ahead of time – “If you are planning anything like a facial or waxing, make sure you do it at least a week ahead of time. Your skin will always look a little irritated after you get one.”
Establish a skincare routine – Lianne recommends Philosophy's Purity Made Simple cleanser and its Hope in a Jar moisturizer. If your skin is a little oily, try Philosophy’s Hope In A Bottle.
Stick to neutrals – “I find that the most flattering looks on everyone are soft plums or browns and absolutely no sparkle - it will reflect the light from the flash and make you look oily."
Use quality makeup products - I use MAC and Makeup Forever products because they are made for stage and film wear. I also use SmashBox photo finish primer to start. It also makes the makeup last longer.”
Now, grab your Mr. Right, toss the beautiful bouquet, and don't be afraid to say, "cheese."
