The darling of downtown Manhattan, designer Alexander Wang, has been named creative director of the legendary Paris based, Spanish fashion house, Balenciaga.
What does this mean for Balenciaga, the perpetually fashion forward label, and Wang, the breakout designer of the past few years [winner of the Womenswear Designer of the Year and in October 2009, and CFDA/Vogue Magazine Fashion Fund Award winner in 2008]? Time will tell, but for admirers of both Wang and Balenciaga, the best is yet to come.
