sigh…sigh…and more sigh.

This divorce went from ugly to down right disgusting. If you have twitter then you know that earlier this evening the timelines were buzzing about NFL hall of famer Deion Sanders and his soon-to-be [not soon enough] ex-wife Pilar Sanders, who has been arrested for domestic violence after allegedly attacking Deion Sanders in their Texas home this afternoon.

According to Deion he was in his bedroom when Pilar busted in with a friend and began “kicking, biting, and scratching” him in front of his sons. He says he merely defended himself until he was able to call police. Moments after the alleged attack … Deion tweeted [because isn't that what we all do after a physical altercation with our spouse], “Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She’s going to jail n I’m pressing charges!”
He continued … “I’m sad my boys witnessed this mess but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys.”

Deion also tweeted the following photo of himself and his boys as he filled out a police report.

The reason behind the attack is still unknown, but if I were to speculate I would say it might have something to do with the fact that Deion was seen with Tracy Edmonds  looking coupled up on the red carpet for the Broadway opening of Streetcar Named Desire in NYC last night. Pilar has already publicly accused Tracy of being one of Deion’s mistresses, so this may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

What makes this even more interesting is that even though Deion and Pilar are going through a bitter [and very public] divorce, the two were still living together. Whose horrible idea was that?

At the end of the day all my sympathy goes to their kids, who will more than likely need to undergo years of therapy to even stand a chance of having meaningful relationships of their own in the future. Deion and Pilar have completely damaged their kids with this circus of a divorce and I’m sure everyone’s heart breaks for this family.
