Mindy Kaling has had an enormous amount of success writing and starring on the hit sitcom  The Office .  She quickly became a fan favorite as the adorable and often ditzy character Kelly Kapoor  on the show. Adding to her success, last year Mindy officially became a NY Times best selling author with the release of her book of funny insights all in her smart, honest, naturally humorous tone called,  Is Everyone Hanging Out without Me?.  Mindy is ready to take even more of the spotlight with her very own comedy that she will write, executive produce and star in [with Parks and Recreation and The Office's Howard Klein on board as a non-writing executive producer].  The network Fox has officially signed on to pilot the untitled comedy from Mindy in which we will see her play a young Bridget Jones-type doctor trying to navigate both her personal and professional lives. Mindy Kaling‘s project comes as the actress has long talked about playing an OB/GYN on screen and days after NBC announced plans for a potential The Office spinoff that would see Rainn Wilson‘s Dwight Schrute run a bed and breakfast on his family farm.  It’s awesome to see Mindy’s hard work pay off, she is certainly a great role model for the women of today.
