Posted by on Jan 18, 2012

Hip-Hop pioneer LL Cool J has been named the host of the 2012 Grammys. This is huge, given that the awards show has not had a host since Queen Latifah seven years ago. LL Cool J has been hosting the annual Grammy nominations concert every year since 2008, but now he gets to take center stage and host the main event.

LL Cool J described is anticipation to host by saying:

“I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”

The 54th Grammy Awards, airing Feb. 12 on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT, will feature previously announced performers and current Grammy nominees Jason Aldean, and Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift.
