While the lockout in the National Basketball Association [NBA] is going on, many of its players are looking to fill their time. Some are playing basketball at the famous Rucker Park or some are even playing overseas. Some are using this time to travel and spend time with family and friends. Then you have those who chose to participate in this year’s Fashion Week in New York City.
Many of the NBA’s superstars such as: Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Andre Iguodala have come out to see what their favorite designers have cooked up for the upcoming season. These athlete’s passion for the game of basketball can easily be matched for their passion for fashion. Since these unemployed NBA stars have mad time to spare, one can’t help but to wonder when they will make their own debut in the fashion industry. Will they be designers or creative directors for their own fashion lines? Or given their athletic physiques and tall statures will they take a stab at modeling? Maybe their just enjoying the free time they have, while they have it. Either way, attendance by members of the NBA is a wonderful addition to New York’s Fashion Week. Not only does it add diversity, it let’s other people know that you can have a multitude of interest that range from many different things and it’s perfectly OKAY!
