New vocals for the late Aaliyah season Chris Brown’s new laid-back cut “They Don’t Know.” Against a Compton backdrop, Breezy sings to a lady friend (Karrueche, maybe?) about letting their relationship thrive without the gossip of others. Although the message gets a little lost on this airy homage to Jon B’s popular 90s record, the dancer-slash-singer also says the song is inspiration to ignore haters.

“Hope this new single inspires change and unity,” he tweeted. “Life is a Gift. I love doing what I do. All the little things count!”

Someone call Drake. It looks like Chris Brown is preparing to drop his Aaliyah-assisted track “They Don’t Know” sooner rather than later–video included. 

During a bromance bonding moment on Wale’s tour bus, CB (&Co) pressed play on the final footage for the DC rapper and Vine users. The 6-second clip shows the “Fine China” singer rocking to his own self-directed video, in which he’s chilling in Compton as well as dancing in a dark warehouse. 

“Hope this new single inspires change and unity,” Chris tweeted about his second single.

The track featuring the late Baby Girl will appear on Breezy’s sixth studio album X.

Aaliyah’s music continues to live on through some of today’s biggest stars. On Tuesday (May 14), Chris Brown announced that the late singer would appear on “They Don’t Know,” the follow up single to “Fine China.” Fans can expect to hear never before heard vocals and see an accompanying video that was recently shot in Los Angeles.

“I shot it in the ‘hood. I went to 60th Street and Cedar Block. [I'm] bringing both worlds together and trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from. I’m from Virginia, but everybody comes from a broken home or being broke—I remember when I was,” he told reporters at the 2013 BET Awards press conference.

Chris’ musical (and personal) nemesis Drake announced last year that he would produce Aaliyah’s posthumous album with a to-be-determined release date. It will be interesting to see whose single garners more listens.

Our suggestion: The best person to play the POTUS would be Scandal‘s own Kerry Washington since she exudes leading lady attributes.

Who wouldn’t want to see a biopic done on Ms. Hill? If she allowed someone to make her life into a story, hip-hop fans would rejoice. Considering she has six kids, any one of her daughters can play a young Lauryn with ease. Nona Gaye can take the adult role and give it justice.

Rihanna

She’s the most talked about Vixen of our time. Far from America’s sweetheart, RiRi’s career has been through enough to make for an epic tale of love, drugs, and music. Why not show off her bad side on screen and give Instagram a rest?

Jada Pinkett-Smith

Before Mrs. Smith was handling her business in the movie industry, she was a confidante to one of the greatest rappers of all times, Tupac Shakur. She ventured into music, acting, producing and is now raising star-studded children. Not to mention, her and Will are an entertainment power couple.  Jada has come a long way from her A Different World days, and it’s only right that we fully learn her story on the big screen.

Oprah

Seeing O’s life play out on screen would probably be one of the most inspirational movies to have been done. It would be great to see Oprah’s transition from a poverty-stricken teen to one of the richest women in the world. We would definitely take notes.

Aaliyah

Aaliyah may have passed before her time, but her legacy still lives on today. The songstress started trends and raised music standards while she was alive. Worth an HBO package or movie ticket at any point.

Whitney Houston

The music legend is one of the greats but her life was anything but perfect. Unfortunately, we know the how it ends, so make sure you keep a tissue box in arms reach while watching.

Beyonce

“Life is But A Dream”, was a great documentary but we’re ready to see Beyonce’s life portrayed by someone else. We want to see unreserved emotion in the Grammy-award winning singer’s life as she dealt with the ups and downs of fame.

Mary J Blige

MJB has used her voice to help heal herself and others while defining hip-hop and gaining much respect through the years. We’ve listened to her story through her music but we’re ready to see it on the big screen. Every piece of this singer’s puzzle is worth a scene in her own biopic.Ruby Dee

Ruby Dee was influential during the civil rights movement and remained relevant through generations.  She was one of the original bad girl in Hollywood, demanding respect as a black actress and shaping the definition of “power couple” with her 50-plus year marriage to actor Ossie Davis.  It would be beautiful to see her biopic, not only as a history lesson but as a true love story.

As if her vocals and depth defying falsettos weren’t enough, Aaliyah’s style has proven to be nothing less than timeless–a clear testament to how momentous the extent her indelible influence was and continues to be two decades after she first stepped onto the scene.

The Brooklyn-born bombshell created a style for herself–fashioned after actress Veronica Lake and British soul singer Sade–that continues to resonate with fans and industry darlings alike. From baggy jeans to midriff tops, her signature look drew a flawless and infallible line between subtle and sexy. An effortless side bang surrounded by long tresses and a face hidden behind over-sized shades, characterized by sheer mystery, completed her image. Managing to give a little without giving too much, she left something to be desired. The multi-platinum selling artist left a plethora of women re-creating her look and even established her as Tommy Hilfiger’s fashion muse. “Being true to yourself. These two Youtube-sensations caught the attention of over two million viewers with vocal ranges strikingly similar to Queen Bey’s. Wouldn’t it be something if she took notice of the super smiling sisters and penned a little encouragement to her prodigies-in-progress?

3. SOLANGE

Despite ongoing public speculation and criticism of Solo living in her sister’s shadow, in Beyonce’s world, family is everything and she has never cast an inch of shade. Through photos, Big Sis has no problem reaffirming that sisters and best friends are interchangeable terms, but put the pen to the paper so we know it’s real.

Beyonce has an uncanny ability to make you question your self-worth without even trying. With Mr. Carter’s “Miss U” ode to the late great, Baddie Bey should write a letter to the industry darling to match. After all, Aaliyah was apart of the Roc.

8. ALICIA KEYS

Since Blue Ivy Carter will be hitting her one-year mark soon, we’re thinking its quite time for a play date with Swizz and Alicia’s son Egypt. A formal (and public) written invitation would do the trick. Toddlers in Paris, anyone?

9. LADY GAGA

These two industry phenoms have already beat Pinky and The Brain to the punch, taking over the world both musically and in fashion. A letter from Honey Bee to Gaga hinting the duos next scheme is completely necessary.

10. HARRY BELAFONTE

Men lie and women lie but numbers sure don’t. Between her political campaigning for Barack Obama and being an advocate for World Humanitarian Day, perhaps Beyoncé should seriously jot down her philanthropic receipts for Harry to see.
