Barry White‘s legacy still lives on.
The legendary singer received an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (September 12), 10 years after his death in 2003.
White’s wife, Glodean White, accepted the posthumous star on his behalf at the ceremony. Motown music legend Berry Gordy was also on-hand; paying tribute to the late singer during the ceremony.
Barry White was known for his soulful music and deep charismatic voice. He brought the world hits such as “Let the Music Play,” “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything,” and “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe.”
“People can’t get enough of Barry White’s music, and even though he passed away many years ago, his songs will live on in the hearts of many,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.
“We are honored to have Barry White, his legendary voice and timeless songs immortalized on the Walk of Fame.”
