Ja’Nel Witt became the first African American woman to win the cooking competition show, Hell’s Kitchen earlier this year. Her skills and determination allowed her to clench the victory above her competitors.
Witt was supposed to become the head chef at the Gordon Ramsay‘s Pub & Grill, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her dream, however, was over before it even began.
According to TMZ, the Season 11 winner tested positive for cocaine. Caesars Palace – an establishment known for its strict drug policy-required Witt to submit to a drug test in order to take the job as head chef at the restaurant. Unfortunately, Witt reportedly “failed miserably” and could not take the job. It’s not known if Witt’s alleged drug use has been an ongoing thing or just a stupid mistake. The chef has not diffused the rumor, instead she’s decided to let the media and naysayers continue to speculate.
Despite the fact that Witt will not be the head chef at the restaurant, she will still receive the $250K salary.
