Rapper Mystikal was sentenced to 3-months in jail on Monday.
Mystikal, born Michael Tyler, was arrested back in February and charged with a misdemeanor for domestic abuse battery.
This arrest was violated the rapper’s 5-year probation, stemming from sexual battery and extortion charges, which landed him in prison for 6-years. Even though this stint in jail is not as long, it’s still a shame nonetheless.
In 2011, following his time in prison, Mystikal was signed to Cash Money Records. A spokesperson for Cash Money CEO Birdman issued a statement to MTV News concerning the situation. The statement assured the public, that the label will continue to support Mystikal’s career despite his arrest.
Mystikal will turn himself in to begin serving his sentence on May 14. The rapper will only serve 81 days because Marabella is subtracting the 9-days he spent in jail after his February arrest.
Mystikal’s first album in eleven-years, Original, is slated to drop sometime in 2012.
