Stacey Dash is out and Denise Vasi is in!
According to Deadline.com, actress Denise Vasi will ‘replace’ Stacey Dash on the hit VH1 show, Single Ladies.
For months, there has been speculation as to who will replace Stacey Dash on the show. Many believed the rumor that actress Meagan Good would replace Dash on the show, but that is certainly not the case anymore.
Vasi, who we last saw play ‘Randi Hubbard’ on ABC’s All My Children, will be playing an entirely new character named Raquel.
So who is Raquel?
Raquel (Vasi) is a business woman, much like her predecessor Val (Dash), who comes from a prominent Southern family. She is also said to be a close friend of the character Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy).
“Denise is the perfect addition to the Single Ladies cast,” Queen Latifah said. “She is bringing a fun, new element to the show.”
Jeff Olde, VH1′s EVP of original production and programming, was very impressed with Vasi during her audition. “It was a rare and wonderful moment during the audition when everyone in the room immediately knew we had found our Raquel.”
He continued, “Denise’s beauty, style, grace and humor leap from the screen.”
No word on how Stacey Dash’s character will be written out of the show. Production on the second season of Single Ladies is set to begin in Atlanta in January, with a premiere in early summer.
What do you think of Stacey Dash’s replacement?
