Marlon Wayans is headed back to television. The actor/comedian has been tapped to writer, produce and star in a new sitcom for ABC. Oddly enough, this new pending sitcom will be about brothers, just as his previous sitcom, The Wayans Brothers.
The show, which will have an Odd Couple vibe to it, focuses on two brothers who also happen to be police officers. One brother has fallen on hard times and moves in with his brother (played by Marlon Wayans) and his family. According to Deadline.com, Wayans is executive producing the show with his manager Lisa Blum and longtime producing partner Rick Alvarez of Wayans Bros Entertainment, and Wayans’ production company with brothers Keenan Ivory and Shawn. No further details on the show have been given at this time.
If this show is anything like My Wife & Kids or The Wayans Brothers, then it will definitely be a hit.
Marlon Wayans is also currently working with Jennifer Pryor and director Bill Condon on the Richard Pryor biopic.
