Monique “Mo” Jackson and Kita Williams from the hit VH1 show, The T.O. Show have joined forces with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to headline their 2011 “Empower Me Tour” of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
The tour will have the ladies— alongside actor Brian White—traveling around the U.S. bringing their knowledge of business, self-worth, and academic achievement to our youth.
While on the “Empower Me Tour,” the VH1 Vixens will debut their “Define Your Pretty” empowerment campaign. With this new campaign in place, Jackson and Williams hope to incite a sense of confidence in young women, as well as redefine beauty from the inside out. In addition to this campaign, the ladies will also be introducing their brand new beauty line called, the “Define Your Pretty Collection.” This collection will consist of both hair-care and beauty products.
The UNCF “Empower Me Tour,” kicks-off on September 9 in Washington, D.C. and will continue on through November 2011. Check out the full-list of tour dates below.
September 9 Washington, DC
September 17 Detroit, Michigan
October 8 Minneapolis, Minnesota
October 22 New York, New York
November 5 Boston, Massachusetts
November 19 Kansas City, Missouri
February 3 Miami, Florida
February 18 San Francisco, California
February 25 Los Angeles, California
UNCF definitely chose the right people for this tour. In a day and age when reality TV is overrun with vulgar language, crude behavior and un-lady like behavior, Jackson and Williams are a breath of fresh air! An empowering tour like this one, needs positive female role models like Jackson and Williams headlining it.
