Sweet 16 years Nzingha Stewart has placed her eyes behind the lens, directing songs for Common, Jagged Edge, Keyshia Cole, and her most prominent visual, Bilal’s “Soul Sista.” The 4-minute video boldly highlighted Black women’s physique but in a tasteful manner. Her creative mind has directed over 100 videos, including commercials for ESPN and MTV to her short film “Thursday. South Central.” Now, the Brooklyn, NY native took to a different form of artistry by penning the script for Disney’s remake of “The Flamingo Kid” adding to her status as an A-List director.
