The longstanding and groundbreaking Alvin Ailey Dance Theater allowed African-American ballet movers the chance to show the world what their bodies were made of. One dancer in particular, Alicia Graf Mack, stunned the critics with her first performance in 2005. Since being discovered as a teenager at the Dance Theater of Harlem, Alicia has wowed the audience with her “type” dance, studying those before her such as Suzanne Farrell and Lester Horton. That degree in history certainly came in handy for Ms. Graf. Photo Credit: Nan Melville
