lovely sentiments especially the wit and understanding. how i know a black man with another woman hss his own personal issues is when he can’t or won’t make eye contact with me assuming i might have a problem with his choice. little does he know this black woman has never wanted or liked anyone who did not want or like me. of course, we don’t always know at first; anyone can be fooled. but once i get the real you, if it’s not pro-black woman, i’m out the door baby! gone!! that rage, that shame, that guilty look: that right there lets me know you are uncomfortable with yourself, with your own blackness and mine. scared of your shadow which you imagine to be me. love is never scared. with any man i have to know as a woman that you will stand up for me and with me, if needed. if you are afraid of what others think or say about your choice, where that leaves me is thrown under the bus! that is no joke in societies where women are under-rated and/or blacks are under siege. thanks for a charming five reasons!
