When I first saw Kid Sister tweet that she was in the studio with Danny Brown I had no idea that it was for the remix of my favorite song from her Kiss Kiss Kiss mixtape. So I was elated to see that one of my favorite Chicago artists had linked with one of my favorites from my hometown, Danny Brown. Both Midwestern natives are signed to Fool’s Gold Records, making the collaboration sensible. Yesterday, the visuals for “Gucci Rag Top Remix” were released.
The innovative video features both quirky artists rapping in front of moving boxes that has video footage from the popular 1993 film Menace II Society and pictures of other artists such as Trick Daddy. Kid Sister’s dog that strongly resembles Lassie also makes a cameo.
Kid Sister is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming full-legnth album Kiss & Tell, scheduled to be released Nov. 29th. Her recent release “Hide N Seek” ft. Riff Raff and the “Gucci Rag Top Remix” ft. Danny Brown will both be featured on the EP.
