This week, New York City has been filled with attendees of the CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival. CMJ is known for bringing various cultures and various musical genres together. Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to see Nola Darling perform at the Red Bull Space, which was filled to capacity. The duo is known for creating music that blends Hip Hop, Reggae, RnB, and whatever comes to mind. The sassy and eclectic group performed brand new songs from their new upcoming EP, that has yet to be titled.
After the show, Jaq and Alex took some time out to talk to Vibe Vixen about their new album, working with super producer Kwame, performing at CMJ, and the difference between their new upcoming EP and their last release, the Pritty Gritty Mini-Mixtape.
In case you haven’t already, check out Nola Darling’s stunning new video, “STFU (Start the Riot)”.
