We are at an all-time high era with second generation entertainers taking over the world. From the Smith kids, Willow and Jaden, to Diggy Simmons, the children of stars we know and love are starting young cementing their position in this entertainment world as well. Next up is Skye Townsend, daughter of director/producer/actor Robert Townsend.
Vying to do it on her own and without the assistance of her famous pops she is taking her time to make sure everything is right. “I’m very specific about anything I release,” Skye explains, “I just recorded a song [with Warryn Campbell (Kanye West, Missy Elliott, Mos Def, Brandy, Mario, Alicia Keys, Musiq, etc)] that I feel is a single and I really wanna move forward with the record. I’m currently featured on a song with producer Boola and another with my friend Casey Veggies.”
I recently sat down with Skye over some vegan food to talk about her acting in the new BET web series 8 Days A Week, her music, why she chose singing and acting over college, being introduced to the world via youtube with her cover and Beyonce impersonations, and more HERE.
To keep up with Skye on her journey to the top follow her on twitter @SkyeTownsend and ‘Like’ her on Facebook.
