Purple Rain
by: Sacha Phillip | Feb. 02, 2007
The weather outside is frightful, but the occasion demands footwear that's delightful. What’s a girl to do?
Wellington boots (or wellies) have made a big comeback over the past few seasons and though they are lifesavers (or, rather, hem-savers) on the wettest days, their look is more practical than polished. Wellies just can’t, despite their cuteness, pull a look together for an interview, a meeting, or a date, during inclement weather (and soiled pumps don’t do anything for an outfit’s overall effect). Fortunately for us Vixens, creative cobbler Tamara Henriques has come up with some stylish solutions. These aren’t Paddington Bear’s rain boots!
A former Vogue editor with a long-standing love for Wellington boots, Tamara Henriques is the first name in fabulous, rainy day footwear. Henriques’ fashionably cheeky rain boots and rain shoes ensure that, no matter the amount of water on the ground, you’ll never have to scrimp on style.
These rubber renditions really run the gamut – from clogs to cowboy boots to ballerina slippers and beyond! Available in palettes and prints to suit any mood (and any outfit), Henriques’ array of designs offers something for every taste.
From now on, fear not, when the sky begins to rumble and the raindrops begin to fall. Thanks to Henriques, the spring in your step will have absolutely nothing to do with puddle jumping.
