MUJI is finally opening their first flagship store in the Americas, they had signed a lease in The New York Times Building, taking up to approximately 5,000 square feet and is set to open in time for the 2007 holiday season. MUJI derived from the Japanese phrase “mujirushi ryohin” which means “no-brand quality goods.” MUJI products are known as ‘essential elements of living,’ and are based on a philosophy of simplicity, minimalism and consumer functionality. The flagship store in The New York Times Building will feature distinctive stationery, housewares, furniture, fabrics, clothing and personal accessories. I don’t see the words “food and snacks”, hopefully they will have it as well, their snacks are soooooooo good! I can’t wait, this is by the far best news in 2007 haha!!
