Vixen Inspiration: What’s Your Motto?

If someone asked you what’s the slogan you live by, could you answer it?

It’s important to have a life motto because our lives are governed by our thought process. I recently spoke to a group of high school students and asked the same question. Unanimously, they screamed “YOLO!” While that’s a different discussion entirely, they were very clear about what they live by.

The importance of having a mantra is clear: what you live by is what your life will be. To get started, think about how you want your life to be remembered and then think about the things you know to be true. From there you will find your motto. Then write it down and keep it in front of you. Finally, watch your life begin to unfold according to your mission statement.

Coaching has afforded me to meet individuals from different walks of life and I’m proud to say that all my clients are champions. What about your life? Are you a champion? Do you know how to be a champion? Here’s the secret: Think like a champion to become a champion.

A champion’s only goal is to win and be victorious in their life experiences. This doesn’t mean there won’t be failures or blunders, but in spite of the unforeseen and the unexpected, champions cross the finish line! Everything about a winner’s life is rooted in resilience, faith, perseverance, hope, excellence and destiny. Today declare that you are the champion you were born to be. Commit to finishing your life’s race in a way that’s not only unprecedented, but also awe-inspiring. God Bless Vixens!

Vixens, have you found contentment? Have you grown to a place where you’ve said, “If nothing else happens, I’ll still be okay?” Many look at contentment as complacence, but really it’s rooted in gratefulness. Some of the happiest people I’ve ever met aren’t the most successful, but they are at peace.

You are wonderful women born in a time where you can pursue your goals audaciously with minimal resistance. Oprah said it best: “If you are a woman born in America, you are the luckiest girl in the world” Examine your journey and I guarantee you’ll appreciate where you’ve been. That’s being content.

“There’s a slot in world history for each of us either as a world changer or someone who watched the world change. Choose today.”

That’s a quote I share whenever I coach someone. Too often we let the pangs of life stop us from dreaming. But regardless of your circumstance, right now in this very moment, you possess the power to not only change your personal world, but the entire world.

You already have everything you need for this life and your purpose and there’s nothing you can do about it. However, we tend to look outside for things we think we need. That’s a trap! No one can add or take away to the gifts that God has given you. No matter what your situation is, you can be a trailblazer. But it all begins with your choice. Now matter how defeated you may feel, there’s greatness in you.

Vixen Inspiration: Balance is the Key to Life

If I were to ask you to define success I’m most certain I’d receive different definitions. That’s because there are many types of success: financial, spiritual, romantic, career etc. However, there’s a success rarely discussed: true success.

How does true success differ from the other successes? True success is achieving your hopes and goals in a balanced manner. I know you wear many hats and have desires for success in everything, but finding the equilibrium in those areas is where you’ll find joy. Success can be achieved daily, therefore you must constantly strive to obtain this happy medium. But, remember anything we do to the extreme becomes error.

Vixen Inspiration: Motivation Vs. Inspiration

As a life coach, I’m constantly around those looking for motivation. Little do they know, motivation is momentary. It’s really inspiration and purpose they are seeking. Research tell us a person can be motivated to accomplish a goal, but lose motivation after three days. So how do we combat this?

First, find something that causes you to dream, wish, conquer and create. True inspiration will last your entire life. Self-actualization requires discovering your purpose, and understanding how it will effect the world around you. I challenge you to seek what will really bring significance to your life. Give it a try, you just might motivate someone else. Great day Vixens.

Vixen Inspiration: Stand Firm in the Midst of Tribulations

Good day Vixens. How does you overcome the torrents of life or prevent yourself from being swept into the whirlwind of the past? It’s easy to become victimized and allow the woe is me syndrome to kick in. But we must stand firm and adopt a relentless mindset.

Understand there’s a champion inside of you waiting to emerge. But she will not come forth unless you CHOOSE to move forward in spite of what has happened. I’ve said before that everything in your life is predicated on one thing: the way you think.

Additionally, refusing to be moved in faith is equally as important. Life is no joke and it can be daunting at times; however, it can also be an incredible journey. My sincerest prayer is that you seek to be a champion in all you do. You are stronger than you know vixens. Be blessed and have a terrific weekend!

Vixen Inspiration: The Necessity of Vulnerability

Spring is here and you should be preparing your mind and heart for a new beginning. Many women I’ve coached seem to lose the spark in their lives. The vibrancy that once dominated their being has dissipated. Failed relationships, unfulfilled dreams and circumstances left them paralyzed to fully live.

Vixens, don’t allow this to happen to you. Many view vulnerability as a weakness, but in reality it is necessary for anything you want in life. In order to find love you must be susceptible to getting hurt. In order to pursue a dream you must be vulnerable to failure. Being defenseless is indeed a risk; however, when used properly it can be an amazing strength. Use discernment when being vulnerable, but definitely employ this emotional state to your advantage.

Vixen Inspiration: How to Communicate With Your Man

Many women I’ve coached have asked these questions: How do I communicate with my man, or how can I get him to express his emotions or feelings?

The communication barrier between men and women has existed since the beginning of time. And while there’s no surefire answer to getting through, because each man is different, here are some useful tips to help important conversations with the man in your life go smoothly.

Know that a man’s emotional vocabulary isn’t as extensive as a woman’s. You must be patient and give him time to find the words to describe his emotions.
Women can process their thoughts at a quicker pace than men. If there’s a problem between you and a man give him time to respond this may require a day or two and be okay with that.
Create a safe environment for a man to express his emotions. Remember, for a man to spill his guts, he must trust you and feel comfortable enough to share.
Understand relationships are a process, and as two committed people grow together, communication will become easier.
