Hair pinned back, gold in her mouth and skin like porcelain, Rita looks more than ready for a global takeover. When she’s not gracing magazine covers, Rita is prepping her sophomore album, being Madonna’s “Material Girl” and dating music producer Calvin Harris.

Are you ready for a political reality takeover? Rumor has it that Valeisha Butterfield is filming a reality series about African American women in the Washington, D.C. political arena. This past Saturday (June 15) , the basketball wife and Obama supporter tweeted from what is assumed to be “the set.”

According to multiple sources, Senior Media Adviser to Mitt Romney Tara Wall and communications professional Teria Rogers are set to co-star alongside Valeisha and guest stars including Roland Martin and Keri Hilson. This series promises to keep the drama to a minimum and instead highlight women taking over the political game.

No word yet on a premiere date, but we’re keeping our eyes peeled.

With just a few weeks until the July 15 premiere of The Real, network executives continue to churn out promo for TV’s newest gab fest. In a new photo, we see co-hosts Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai getting cozy on set. In front of them is a decorative cake and gift, possibly for Tamar, who just gave birth to a son.

The Real makes its debut on Fox.

Next week, Oprah’s Next Chapter will bring together Gabrielle Union, Viola Davis, Alfre Woodard and Phylicia Rashad to discuss what it really means to be a black actress in Hollywood. In the just-released preview, we see the four leading ladies talk about the challenges, criticisms and roadblocks that come with the entertainment industry. The in-depth chat will lead up to the network premiere of Dark Girls, a documentary that will tackle issues surrounding skin color and African American women.

In the newest issue of Us Weekly, the Have and Have Nots actress dishes on her latest fitness obsession: Pure Barre. A combination of Pilates, cardio, strength training and traditional ballet drills, it’s quickly become the go-to workout for celebrities.

Despite pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, I am quite the hermit when it comes to social media. I’m not a fan of taking selfies, my tweets are seldom and I rarely update my Facebook with personal notes. Long story short: I just don’t want the whole world in my business.

As a result, my online persona is completely separate from my actual life. In cyberspace, I’m reserved, about my business and a little boring. Whenever my tweets exceed a retweet and actually encompass my thoughts, friends sarcastically reply, “Oh, my gosh. She’s alive!” Although I’m trying to invoke more of my true self onto these e-streets, I still enjoy that protective space.

Contrary to popular (and online) belief, I’ve been in a relationship for some time now. Chances are you didn’t know if our communication is limited to emails or random hellos across the web space. Most people assume that if you don’t shower your significant other with public displays of affection, you’re embarrassed or unhappy. I am neither of those things. Like any other couple, me and my boyfriend go through the notions of a growing relationship, but we are still happier than ever. Both of us have Facebook pages, but rarely use them to say “I love you” or share our insider jokes with one another. We don’t hide our relationship or make an announcement about it. We’re just us.

Do I think it’s wrong to do the opposite? Absolutely not. I have a handful of friends that are notorious for flooding my newsfeed with sappy songs, status updates and photos dedicated to their boo. And some of those relationships are still going strong. Even though this Generation X behavior is unnerving, I try not to cast judgement on those who make their relationship readily available for public fodder.

think a man and a woman should do what feels right to them. There is no wrong or right answer. When it comes to me, that’s just not my thing. And it’s going to stay that way.

Cue the confetti and congratulatory tweets! According to TMZ, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just welcomed a bouncing baby girl at Beverly Hills’ Cedar-Sinai Hospital. Although baby Kimye arrived five weeks early, she’s said to be doing well since entering the world.

Kanye West, who abruptly left a Los Angeles Yeezus listening session, is said to have been there for the birth as well. The rapper announced that he and Kim were expecting a baby last year during an end of the year concert.
