That’s the question that the ever-lovable and never-aging 46-year-old actress plans to answer in her new book. Dash announced on her blog that she was “embarking on a new adventure.”

“I’m writing a “How To” book. It’ll be about me, my daily ritual and what I do every day to be Stacey Dash. It’ll be about what I’ve done in the past, the mistakes I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned. The mistakes that I continue to make that drive me to moments of madness. I want to share what I’m going through in real-time to correct,  reconcile and reinvent. You see I’m on a quest to live in love and joy come hell or high water. So, I’ll be writing about my future and how I’m moving forward in life using the knowledge I’ve gained from my past and wisdom I’m finding now. Also, I want to teach women and girls how to take care of themselves…and most importantly, how to love themselves. I believe that… is truly what is most important in life. In the process of writing, I’m hopeful that while I’m teaching you I’ll also be teaching myself.”

This comes on the heels of her departure from the VH1 sitcom, Single Ladies, last season. And though many of us are still missing her role as “Val,” there was also some tension on the set which may have aided in her decision to quit the show.

D.B. Woodside, who plays the handsome Malcolm on the show, had this to say about Dash in an interview with V-103′s Egypt Sherrod:

“I don’t want to cause any trouble, but I, for one, am happy she’s gone. It’s a much better place to be. It’s a much better set. I’m just going to keep it straight. I’m just going to keep it real. I am happy that she’s not there anymore. Last year was very difficult at times to go to set with all that tension that was going on with Stacey. So I wish her well. I’m sure she’s off doing something else.“

Well, indeed she is!

The Grammy winner earned 1.6 million dollars between 2005, 2006, and 2007, the three years that she allegedly did not file taxes. According to prosecutors, she was earning royalty checks that time from recording and film industries. Hill also earns money from her four corporations – Creations Music, Boogie Tours, L.H. Productions 2001 and Studio 22.

We recently saw Lauryn Hill ripping the stage at Hot 97′s Summer Jam, let’s hope she’s keeping her head above water.

She’s scheduled to appear before the U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Shipp on June 29.

In a recent article in the NY Times, one such bride took her wedding day diet to extreme proportions.

Forty-one-year-old Jessica Schnaider opted to be as close to perfection as possible for her big day. And she was aided by Dr. Oliver R. Di Pietro, a doctor who runs his clinic in Bay Harbor Islands, Fla., who offered her what he commonly refers to as the K-E diet.

“It uses a nasogastric tube (a tube that goes through the nose and down the esophagus into the stomach) to provide all nourishment, with no carbohydrates, for 10 days. Dr. Di Pietro said body weight is lost quickly through ketosis, the state in which the body burns fat rather than sugar.”

Absolutely disgusting.

A process like this costs $1,500 for 10 days and is supposed to help brides achieve their picture-perfect body on their wedding day. Though it’s not highly used in the U.S., it’s become fairly popular all over the world. The NYTimes reports,

“While the tube diet is fairly unknown in this country, it has been popular for years in Italy and Spain, where it is used casually to lose weight before a big event, as well as for more significant weight loss. In England, where it has been offered for the past year as the KEN (or ketogenic enteral nutrition) diet, The Daily Mail asked if it was ‘the most extreme diet ever,’ before adding that a National Health Service doctor was offering it.”

The pressure to fit into that dress has become extreme, and the media surely doesn’t help.

With shows on TV like BridalPlasty, ushering in a new wave of perfection for that special day, it seems the average woman, who just wants to look good and, God-forbid, be happy on her wedding day — will shortly be pushed to the edge of extinction.

According to All Hip Hop,

“The artist has suffered a medical emergency and has been ordered by his doctors not travel,” promoters Hits and Jams Entertainment said in a statement.

Reps for Rick Ross have stated that he will make up the canceled date in Guyana, but there could be issues with a missed date in Houston the night before.

The rap star was also supposed to perform at the Bayou Music Center in Houston on April 8, but missed that performance as well.

Rick Ross will not be rescheduling the stop in Houston.”

This time promoters took no chances, saying that he was banned from flying most likely trying to avoid any futher complications. Ross’s first two seizures happened while he was on a plane back in early October. Blaming lack of sleep, he mentioned how he often only got two hours of rest.

These rappers have got to take better care of themselves!

The big day is getting close. And by the big day, we’re not talking about your birthday. It’s Valentine’s Day, the day when men and women celebrate the love they share with each other. But for many, this is a day of utter despair. Take a look at 10 reasons you may hate Valentine’s Day:

1. Only one partner celebrates it. It’s no fun if you celebrate Valentine’s Day in a relationship, by yourself. If your partner doesn’t celebrate it, you’re left to look around at all the other lovers which is never any fun.

2. It’s a Hallmark holiday. Let’s face it, most holidays are money-makers. But it just may frustrate you much more to know that on this particular day Hallmark, as well as restaurants and jewelry makers are banking on your dollar!

3. Expectations are high.Women have extremely high expectations when it comes to the magic day. One mistake–he/she shows up late or the weather is horrible–and the vision of perfect romantic bliss can be ruined. Such pressure!

4. You don’t have a “Valentine” on Valentine’s Day. How hard is it to walk outside and be thrust into a sea of romantic couples coddling each other, when you don’t have someone to share in the day with. Talk about depressing!

5. It’s the only day you feel appreciated. There are 365 days in a year. If Valentine’s Day is the only time your significant other goes all out, then something may be wrong. If you can’t feel special the other days of the year, then why is this one day so significant?

6. It leaves you thinking your relationship is inadequate. On the opposite side of the spectrum, you could be perfectly content in your relationship. But because your significant other didn’t go all out for Valentine’s Day, it may leave you questioning how much he/she really cares.

7. My gift is better than yours. Valentine’s Day can bring out the most competitive behavior since Superbowl Sunday. If you have girlfriends who flaunt their gifts in your face, Valentine’s Day can become a day for comparisons.

8. You can’t get over the past. Valentine’s Day used to mean something to you. Maybe it was the day that your boyfriend made things official or your significant other bought you that brand new car. Well, now he’s your ex-husband, and the car is repossessed. So every time Valentine’s Day comes around, it brings up horrible feelings. Yikes!

9. It’s a one-sided holiday. Ladies, if you carry the mentality that it’s all about us, this could be the reason your hubby hates this day. Are you giving your guy anything special? Are you spending money on him? Do you treat him to something nice? Maybe, you should.

10. What gift should I get? On the subject of gifts, other than the typical flowers and candy, it can become difficult to come up with a unique gift that really melts your significant other’s heart. It can leave you racking your brain for days before!

LUV
In this film directed by Sheldon Candis, on-screen newcomer Michael Rainey Jr. plays an 11-year-old forced to learn the truth about his uncle, an ex-con, played by rapper Common.

Middle of Nowhere
Director and screenwriter Ava DuVernay premieres her first Sundance film. The Middle of Nowhere depicts an African American woman struggling to maintain her marriage while her husband is incarcerated. Bradford Young, the cinematographer for the dynamic film, Pariah, also shot this film. Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap
Ice-T is back with this documentary that chronicles the history and artform of rap. The film delves in to conversations with rappers, Chuck D, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Eminem, MC Lyte, Mos Def and Kanye West.

Under African Skies
Songwriter Paul Simon goes back to South Africa for a reunion concert that marks the 25th anniversary of his album Graceland. The documentary tells the story of how Simon sparked controversy with the United Nations for breaking the cultural boycott of South Africa. The film includes interviews with legends Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte, Paul McCartney and David Byrne.

The House I Live In
Danny Glover is one of the producers in this thought-provoking film on the war on drugs and how it has crippled black men who are incarcerated. For many black men, we see the struggle they face since prison is their home.

The divorce property settlement has Vanessa getting ownership of three of the couple’s mansions in Newport Beach – the one they lived in together, her mother’s, as well as the couple’s new mansion that was just built. Not only that, but she’s taking home a hefty $75 million, which according to TMZ, “represents close to half of their total assets, estimated at around $150 million.”

Tired of Kobe’s cheating ways, Vanessa filed for divorce back in early December citing “irreconcilable differences.” In other words, Kobe just couldn’t keep the snake in his pants. Yikes!
