Kelly Rowland started the morning off with a clean slate, pouring out all the emotions she’s kept tucked away from the public for nearly a decade on wax. She touches on an abusive relationship and going through the motions in the shadow of her bestie Beyonce.

“When my sister was on stage killin’ it like a motherfucker, I was enraged, feelin’ it like a motherfucker,” Kelly sings. Later she admits, “She was up, I was down. No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now?”

The Dream-penned ballad is anything but cyclical for the songstress who has kept most of her catalog in the bedroom moreso than her diary.

Her forthcoming effort Talk A Good Game lands June 18 just in time for her summer fling with The-Dream on their joint Lights Out tour.

Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie took on what may have been the biggest role of her life when she decided to undergo a procedure that would reduce the chances of her getting cancer.

In a revealing essay for The New York Times, Jolie details discovering she had “an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer” because of a faulty gene, BRCA1, she carried. She describes taking a proactive stance to fight the risk, getting a preventive double mastectomy and completing treatments for three months on April 27.

After losing her own mother to cancer, she writes that she hopes her story will encourage other women to get tested and take action.

“I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made. My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.”

She continues, “It is reassuring that they see nothing that makes them uncomfortable. They can see my small scars and that’s it. Everything else is just Mommy, the same as she always was. And they know that I love them and will do anything to be with them as long as I can. On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman. I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.”

Jolie also name drops her partner/ actor Brad Pitt for being supportive and loving every step of the way.

There have been pros and cons to my Drizzy state. On the one hand, conquering the dance floor and getting white girl wasted with my nearest and dearest has made for many-a forgettable night.

The down-side? Getting the Asian flush and often slurring my secret thoughts out loud when they probably would have been better been left exposed by my inside voice. From witnesses who have seen me in my inebriated state, I have said some really ridiculous things I didn’t mean.

When I had told that former lover that I wanted a break, it was reportedly after him giving me Law & Order: SVU-style interrogation, which triggered my hostile state.

I think alch just encourages more honest dialogue, but it doesn’t always equate to the truth.

BRED IN THE RURAL innocence of Seattle, Washington, Chrissy Teigen accelerated her maturity when she became a California transplant. “Seattle was like a Disney family town,” she recalled. “There was no emphasis put on being sexy and people didn’t even talk about sex or drugs. I moved to Huntington Beach and everything grew up a lot faster there.”

After clocking in for a retail gig at a surf shop on Main Street, a photographer came in and asked to flash his lens at the beach beauty. Chrissy took the snapshots to a modeling agency in Los Angeles that praised her exotic features even when she felt more tomboy than model. “All models say growing up they were kind of awkward, but I wasn’t awkward,” she said. “I played sports like baseball and soccer, and I had all guy friends. It was more weird, not ‘Oh my look at the dark-haired, mixed girl.’

Now, even with a Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover crossed out on her to-do list, the Thai/Norwegian model still has yet to find her sexy. “Probably last year, and even then, not really,” Chrissy laughs when asked when she embraced her self-image. “I’m very aware of what people say about me and what people think all the time.”

The 27-year-old also recognizes when gossip outlets troll her love life. Her engagement to R&B singer John Legend has recently drawn a media firestorm after a tabloid-y newspaper accused him of cheating on Teigen. Her line of defense? Humor. “Gonna buy a parrot for the sole reason of it shitting on the post every day. Also the singing and companionship,” she tweeted.

This isn’t the first time the Twitter addict has caught shade online. In May 2012, Chris Brown’s league of stans came with death threats after she fired an e-shot against the singer’s lipsyncing performance at the Billboard Awards.

Still, no amount of characters can deter the svelte firecracker from planning her nuptials to Legend, hosting a messy model competition and planting the seeds for her own mini-empire.

VV: On Twitter, you would never guess that you had self-esteem issues. I feel like you just say whatever the heck you want.
In the beginning, I didn’t understand why I could say things and get crap for them. I knew there were people watching, but there is a way to say things and make it funny, not a malicious attack. I‘ve kind of learned and grown in that way but I’m still insecure and I still read terrible things. You kind of become desensitized to it.

Let’s talk about your Top Chef skills. Why did you start a foodie blog?
I always wanted to go to culinary school but it was never in the cards for me. Modeling is such a short window of time, and I’ve been lucky enough that the blog took off. Some people from the Food Network were leaving comments on it and that’s when I knew it could really be something.

What’s your earliest cooking memory?
I remember actually having food competition shows with my friend Bonnie, and I would look in the refrigerator and be like, “Okay you have one minute to use anything in this refrigerator to create a wonderful dish.” And this is before Top Chef, but I remember more than anything my mom’s scallop potatoes and helping her roast potatoes, the ham and the bacon. I can smell it every time.

You’re hosting a show called Model Employee, which recently aired. What can people expect?
The reason why I would watch is because you’re putting eight gorgeous in a house, sifting through trash and recycling, for this Mandalay Bay spokesmodel role that they lose all concept of the cameras and it just becomes amazing.

Now what’s amazing about your upcoming swimwear line?
It’s kind of lingerie but swimwear. This year, I collaborated with Beach Bunny doing their beach bridal line. I got to come into the offices, sift through fabrics, see their designs and make changes. It’s all the elements I’m looking for in a dress — very natural and soft and feminine. 

Speaking of bridal, what’s the update on the wedding?
This sounds like the typical answer but I’m not kidding–we know no details. We know we’re gonna get married. There’s no real rush. My mom has her dress already. My bridesmaids are freaking out. [John and I] aren’t too worried about it for some reason. [Laughs]

What’s your advice to women who are extremely successful that want to find love but don’t have the time for it?
You gotta make time for yourself and get out there. That’s the hard part about dating alone. You could have everything but it’s hard to find that perfect guy. I guess I just got lucky.

In her sit-down with AI host/ entertainment mogul Ryan Seacrest, Nicki Minaj discusses a possible take two judging the competition and the other diva she initially thought was her friend.

On her relationship with the Barbz:
“One of the reasons I did Idol was because when there were rumors circulating about me doing Idol, my fans were saying ‘(gasp) we’re gonna get to see Nicki on TV every week?’ I wouldn’t be doing this without that kind of bond that I have with my fans. My fans came to the underground parking lot at the Met Gala in New York and surrounded my car.”

On her “relationship” with Mariah Carey:
“Imagine someone that you loved your whole life… Imagine you meeting them and then all of a sudden feeling like you did something horrible to them but you just don’t know what you did. That’s what my relationship with Mariah is, and that’s what it’s been from the beginning. I just really thought that we were friends, but that’s the other thing I learned that this industry is so fake. You walk away thinking people are your friends and they’re not. It’s a couple nice hi and byes and then really, you better not step on nobody’s toes. And God forbid you get a little shine. And God forbid you’re maybe witty or quick on your toes or make someone laugh. Then maybe you’re making another person feel insecure. And you shouldn’t have to dim your light to let another person shine.”

A$AP Rocky was in the Twitter streets Thursday night, partying at TAO Las Vegas when rumored girlfriend/ supermodel Chanel Iman decided to post up a quick pic (above) of her giving the pretty boy rapper a smooch with the caption “thug love.” The slender beauty was also dressed like her man in sweats and a “PMF” snap back.

Meanwhile, Big Sean don was spending his guap in Hawaii for a quick getaway with gal pal Naya Rivera. The actress was celebrating the season finale of her show Glee while getting down at a luau (see Vine clip here) with her Detroit player. Sean then shared a snap shot of his lady (below), writing “Beautiful woman on my balcony.” The two recently went public when they were spotted holding hands at the 42 movie premiere in Los Angeles.

Summer love ain’t never been hotter.

I can’t remember the exact date or time, but I’ll never forget all the hoopla that went in to me getting it in. It was a cold winter night (cue the dramatic music) and my then boyfriend prepared for my special night: tickets to the Nutcracker ballet, a fancy dinner on a revolving rooftop floor and a lavish hotel room in the city.

While we both nearly drooled from falling asleep with our mouths open at the theater (hip-hop and R&B shows were more our thing), the in-tummy butterflies were still a-flutter from the anticipation of what was supposed to be a sleepless night.

Prior to this late night rendezvous, I was very green to getting freaky. IMX, 112 and Ginuwine laced my after-hours playlist, but I was 19 going on 20 and never clocked in for sexy time. My sexual résumé was only filled with innocent five-minute make-out sessions, so for my first ride, I was content with being in the passenger’s seat.

My only request: It had to mean something.

As a former wait-till-marriage enthusiast, I made the decision to revoke my V card for this fellow because I really was in love with him. He was on the older side, had a respectable job and showered me with affection whether I was a bitch or his baby.

Rewind to my special night. The look of wonder on my face when my eyes saw red rose petals sprinkled all over the white king-sized mattress, candles strewn all along the walls, chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne in a bucket of ice. This was everything Disney didn’t tell me it would be and more!

Once the bubbly started circulating and the kisses became more slippery, I noticed that me and my man were so engulfed in the pre-sex that I was watching the hands on the wall clock move almost in slow motion. Not to say the act itself was agonizing, but it was such a new experience that we just kept going and going like the Duracell bunny.

Unfortunately, my A-game was so wiped out by the foreplay that me and my ex-man never got around to the actual deed. We tapped out and tried it once more the next morning only to, put it simply, nail it.

But even if plans didn’t go according to schedule, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Emeli Sandé could be considered part of music’s elite.

Beating out the legendary pop group’s 62-week reign with Please Please Me, the UK songbird recently smashed The Beatles’ record by charting for 63 weeks with her 2012 debut album Our Version of Events, a feat she didn’t see coming.

“I never thought with my debut album we’d be able to make chart history back home, so yeah, we’ve been celebrating all week,” she tells Vixen at the black carpet premiere of The Great Gatsby in New York.

She then received placement on the soundtrack of the Baz Luhrmann-directed flick, not just to harmonize over any beat but execute a cover of the Beyoncé hit “Crazy In Love.”

“I was asked to come into the studio and whether I’d like to do this cover,” she says. “It’s daunting to cover a Beyoncé track with Jay-Z producing the soundtrack but we got to do our own interpretation and I loved it.”

She admits that no one can touch the original but she did her best to let her vocal prowess shine. “No one can match, so for me, it was about relaxing and bringing myself to it.”

The Great Gatsby hits theaters May 10.

Tamar Braxton puts a spin on Notorious B.I.G.’s classic “Juicy” for a nostalgic ballad to her lover. The melodic follow-up to “Love And War” gets production credits from Yung Berg and LaShawn Daniels, highlighting the Braxton Family Values star’s vocal versatility.

“This is my real debut album,” the former VIBE cover star recently dished to Vixen. “Not be selfish, but I just really reflected on who I was and what I wanted to say, so it’s majority just Tay-Tay.”

While Tamar preps for the arrival of her bundle of joy, expect her album Love And War to drop later this year.
