I friggin’ love LOVE false lashes! Not the lamb chop lashes. The kind of false lashes that appear as if you spent 1 hour creating perfection with your lash primer and mascara in the mirror. You may have contemplated getting semi-permanent false lashes at the salon but chickened out. There’s nothing wrong with using false lash strips to create an enhanced daytime flirty lash. Here are a few options that don’t require much of a commitment:

Sassi 747S ($2.88)- These 100% human hair lashes have just enough density and fullness with a little wisp on the tips. Adding a little mascara at the base of the lash line creates a little more drama. You may have to cut some of the outer portion in order for the band to fit on your lash line.

Ardell 65012 Invisiband Demi Wispies ($3.00)- Available in black and brown, this style has a fantastic natural look that flares out slightly on the outer half of the band. The actual band fits comfortably on many different eye shapes.

Red Cherry #DW Black ($1.99) – The ultimate wispy false lash that offers a low-maintenance appearance with a hint of “are you flirting with me?”. You may want to add a coat of mascara but they look perfect without it.

Red lipstick has always been a classic. “Matte” red lipstick is a timeless must have. From electric cherry to a full bodied vino – Red, velvet textured lips go perfect with the holiday season and are appropriate for the office or a cocktail party. You can wear refinement and sophistication on your lips by choosing the perfect shade.

To get the perfect, Matte red pout there are a few things you must do!

1. Before applying any lip color, exfoliate your lips using Lush Cosmetics Sweet Lips Lip Scrub. It’s made of organic cane sugar and tastes like chocolate. Yummy!

2. Condition the lips immediately after, using Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Lip Moisture Cream SPF 30 for protection from dryness. Blot any excess product with a tissue.

3. Apply Too Faced Lip Insurance Smoothing Anti-Feathering Lip Primer on the edges of your lip line so that the color stays in place.

4. For girls with two-toned lips, you will also blend a droplet of concealer on your lips first and finish with a translucent powder.

5. Using a lip brush apply M.A.C Ruby Woo (my go-to universal matte red – every woman should wear it) to the center of the pout and blend toward the outer perimeter of the mouth.

6. Use M.A.C Cherry Lip Pencil to make your red smooch look really crisp by filling in the lip line. Blend the pencil in with the lip color for a seamless look using your lip brush and voila!

You’re now officially red velvet ready!
