Serena Williams continues to kill it on the tennis court despite leaving Wimbledon. She withdrew because of health issues—more specifically, problems with her equilibrium. Despite that, she managed to score it big at Bank of the West Classic tournament on Sunday (*does infamous crip walk*).
Serena started off rocky, with German player Angelique Kerber dominating the court. Of course that didn’t last long and Ms. Williams came through with the spirit fingers, beating Kerber in the end. Chris Evert of ESPN noted, “She found a way and that’s what champions do. She became the Serena that we all know.”
Yes, that is the legendary player we know and we’re glad she’s back. #TeamSerena on deck.
