It seems to us that with beauty, brains (Brown University graduate) and talent (runner up of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 3), Yaya Dacosta is the total package.
Even if naysayers doubt her ability to channel Whitney Houston in the highly anticipated biopic narrating the singer’s troubled life, one thing we can vouch for his her natural talent for modeling. Apparently, designer Tom Ford saw the same in Dacosta as he chose her for his Fall 2014 ad campaign.
“The concept is individual style, which was the idea behind my first women’s show in N.Y.,” Ford explained. “The campaign is focused on the personal, individual style of different types of women.”
Amongst an army of fair skinned beauties, Yaya’s brown skin dazzles in a sequin LBD sporting her enviable and untamed afro mane, all while standing confident and self-assured (don’t we love the hand-on-the-hip pose we did as a kid?) Attitude, honey!
And how could we forget? Kudos to Mr. Ford for mixing it up with a little bit of color in his Fall ad.
