While the frenzy of Fall/Winter 2014 ad campaigns bombard the fashion industry like Christmas, we are dazzled and impressed at the sartorial art of bringing fashion to life behind the lens of a camera.
With a slew of ad campaigns being revealed recently, we’ve come across one that is beyond stellar and a real conversation piece and an eye catcher. Missoni has given their ad campaign an out-of-this-world aura, actually an extraterrestrial sense of style to be exact.
Top model Joan Smalls is the face of the women’s division, sporting her immaculate looks in the campaign, which boasts of cool geometric shapes, structured silhouettes, and ample color blocking. In contrast to the collection, photographer and artist Viviane Sassen and Studio M/M Paris curated a rugged, backdrop dating to arachiac times accompanied by colorful, 3-D props bringing a real sense of science fiction to the ad.
Sassen further explains the to campaign to be “a pictorial futurama, an ironic and surreal collage of natural and digital, bold colours and surfaces clearly standing out in space, ironically developing the palette, cuts, textures, patters and geometric patchworks of the collection.”
