Poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou will finally be laid to rest. According to the Associated Press her memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7 at Wake Forest University. The private service will be for family only, but it can be streamed here for those who wish to pay their respects.
She began teaching at Wake Forest in 1982 after she visited the campus to read some of her work. Angelou was found dead last week (May 27) by her caretaker in her North Carolina home. She was 86 years old.
