Hip hop’s high priestess of soul, Lauryn Hill made a rare appearance at the “Rock! Like a Girl” concert Saturday evening (April 5). The Black Girls Rock and Bondvision Media have added a new event to its roster; a concert featuring female musical legends who’ve paved the way for many of our current singing starlets. The Grammy-winning recording artist performed a reggae-infused set amongst elites such as, MC Lyte, Jean Grae, Ana Tijoux, Rapsody, violinist Miri Ben-Ari and the Black Girls Rock founder, DJ Beverly Bond.
Washington D.C’s very own Be’la Dona served as the house band for the epic evening. The concert was the first of its kind, celebrating master’s of arts and music and showcasing artists that positively affect culture on an international scale.
