17-year old Kwasi Enin’s grades, SAT scores and extracurricular activities have not only put him in the national spotlight, but earned him acceptance to 8 Ivy League colleges and universities. He if the first to apply and get into Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania.
“By applying to all eight, I figured it would better the chances of getting into one,” the William Floyd High School senior told News Day in an interview. The 17-year old upcoming graduate ranks in 11 in his class, scored a 2250/2400 on his SATs and is set to complete all 11 Advanced Placement classes before he walks the stage this spring.
The son of Ghanian immigrant nurses plans to purse similar medical paths. “I’m thinking of being a cardiologist or neurologist. A doctor is a community leader, a protector, someone who people turn to…when they need help.” And although choosing between 8 schools seems daunting, he already has his eye on Yale. “They seem to embody all the things I want in a college: the family, the wonderful education, the amazing diverse students and the financial aid as well.”
He will make his official decision by May 1st.
