Pharrell’s Grammy-nominated song continues to send his career into a “happy” ripple of accomplishments as he joins The Voice as a coach for its seventh season. It’s no surprise that the G I R L artist landed on NBC’s radar after a whirlwind of winning moments and Cee Lo Green‘s recently announced departure.
“It’s been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution in the world of music —his dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incomparable accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, make him an irresistible addition to The Voice family,” Paul Telegedy (NBC boss) stated.
The network’s Executive Producer Mark Burnett also added, “I am thrilled to have Pharrell come back to The Voice family, and this time…as a coach. Continuing in The Voice tradition of having the biggest and most current music stars as coaches, Pharrell fits perfectly.”
Boasting with pride, the network recently tweeted the announcement.
“Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO
#HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON”. Not leaving NBC alone in their excitement, the producer expressed his joy as well (“this is going to be so fun”) alongside new coachmate Adam Levine (“Welcome to the circus dude!”)
