K. Michelle has been a busy bee these past few years. In addition to becoming a New Yorker, she also joined Love and Hip Hop NY and dropped her album Rebellious Soul. It seems the southern songbird is letting go of her confrontational bad girl image and continuing to expand her front as a musical powerhouse.
Because of the positive commentary surrounding her musical project, K. is slated to join Robin Thicke on his upcoming tour. “We leave out on February 21st and I’m very excited,” she told Charlotte’s Power98 The Morning Madhouse, when she stopped by to chat. “You know I didn’t think he knew me. So for someone that I really adore musically to pick me to open for him, I’m very excited about that.”
She also revealed that she will be ending her Love and Hip Hop run for a new reality venture. “I have my own show and we start filming February 10, ‘No New Friends’.” She told the radio show after revealing she won’t be on LHHNY after this season. “We film my show which comes on VH1.”
She also let the radio personalities know she’ll be working with one of our many Hollywood crushes. “I turn ‘Rebellious Soul’ into a musical. And it’s kind of like a female “Trapped in the Closet” and Idris Elba’s the director of the musical. For him to understand my vision and for him to be such a creative guy, and for us to team up and do this project together, it’s absolutely amazing. So we shoot that in Africa in a couple of weeks.”
The musical will air on VH1. Vixens: will you be tuned in?
