Unless you live overseas, chances are you didn’t know Halle Berry ever portrayed a schizophrenic stripper.
In 2010, her film Frankie & Alice premiered overseas, but never released saw a U.S. release…until now. In the film–which garnered Berry a Golden Globe nomination–she stars as a go-go dancer/stripper with multiple personalities. Set in the ’70s, her many personalities include Frankie the dancer, a child named Genius and a Southern racist woman named Alice; three characters that aren’t fans of one another. Once the personalities began to take hold, she seeks help from Dr. Oz, played by Stellan Skarsgard; who is determined to get order within her head.
The Codeblack-produced film–inspired by a true story– also stars Phylicia Rashad and will open in theaters on April 4, 2014. Press play to watch the trailer and let us know if you’ll be catching this when it hits theaters.
