CoverGirl is more than a beauty brand–they’re also changing the way girls look at themselves in 2014. They along with Soledad O’Brien recently launched “#GirlsCan,” a campaign that encourages young women to break down social stigmas and challenge themselves to achieve what many would say is impossible.
“There are thousands of inspirational stories waiting to be told about young women who yearn for a great education. They are stories of struggle and stories of success, and they will inspire others to take action and work to change lives,” says the former CNN correspondent. “Cover Girl’s Girls Can movement is perfectly aligned with my passion for helping young women overcome life’s challenges, and my commitment to highlighting girls’ successes.”
O’Brien’s Starfish Foundation–whose purpose is to help young women on their quest for higher education–will continue to work with Cover Girl to tell the stories of women who have been helped by the non-profit.
