It seems its own creator found the need for a ‘Flappy Bird‘ intervention. The uber-addictive game, which was created last May, started gaining popularity in November and became January’s number one downloaded app. It’s reported that the free game was bringing in $50,000 a day from advertisements.
Unfortunately, flappy bird was recently taken off the market due to countless complaints and high levels of addiction from its players. Forbes reports the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen, decided to remove the game from the app store because “it was ruining his simple life.”
For all those who have already downloaded the app—congratulations, you’re one of the lucky few (thousand!) who will get to enjoy it now that it’s no longer available for download anymore. For all those who don’t have it, there are biddings wars for iPods with the game installed starting at 5 Gs on eBay. (But if you ask us, that price tag is for the birds). #teamflappybird
