Remember Grammy nominated R&B songstress, Jazmine Sullivan? She entered the R&B scene strong with magnetic hits like her debut single, “Need You Bad,” that skyrocketed her career into new heights. After a breakthrough year and a budding career that was bound to set the bar, Jazmine threw in the towel back in 2011, where she announced her retirement to her thousands of twitter followers:
“I’m making an official announcement that i am taking a break from music … i’m trying to figure out who i am … w/out a mike, paper or pen. i promised myself when it wasn’t fun anymore i wouldn’t do it. and here i am. i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much … you have no idea how much you’ve inspired me and fed my ego. but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what I’m lookin for. that belief in myself. me. I. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue.”
In 2012, the heartbreak singer admitted via Twitter once again that she is un-retired and currently in the studio working on her new album.
