Two interesting facts about Trevor: I love applesauce with my pizza—I dip my pizza in applesauce. Oh, and I wear a size 14 shoe.
Dream Collaboration: Kendrick Lamar. I think he’s a great rapper and his stuff is so creative, I think if we were to create something it would be something nobody has heard.
His Sound: People on the outside looking in would think it to be R&B, but I try to put a lot of aspects of music into my music because I feel like I want everybody to enjoy it and everybody doesn’t like the same type of music. But I always stay true to myself. I make music first for myself, and then for everybody else.
Musical Inspiration: Michael Jackson for sure. Kendrick is incredible. For vocals Donny, Brian McKnight, Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts, and R Kelly.
Why Michael Jackson: Everything he did started with him being a good person. Everything he did was creative and I want to be as creative as him, but in my own way. I want to touch as many lives and achieve as many goals as he did.
Trevor’s Story: I grew up in Indiana. I started tap dancing for a long time and competing all over the place for tapping. I met this guy who invited me to a tap class and acting class. Did the acting class and he said “oh you should do acting,” I went back and did a local show called Beef and Boards Christmas Show in Indianapolis [Indiana]. Long story short that led to me doing The Lion King on Broadway for 3 years. After that I moved to LA did Cold Case, Harry’s Law, Eureka on the SYFY channel for two years and did Let it Shine. I was still singing while I was doing all of this, but at that point I was like I have to stop and do music right now. We met with labels and all were interested but Atlantic seemed to be the most hungry for me; that’s what I need right now.
Trevor’s Style: I like anything that looks good. Sometimes I don’t like baggy pants but if its a baggy pant that looks good on me, I don’t really have a preference. I love Levi’s, adidas, and Jordans. I always want to do the least, but the most.
Relationship Status: Single
Type of female he likes: I look for comfortability. If you try to be something you’re not to impress me, I don’t like that. If you love yourself, I’ll eventually love you. I like a girl who can be a girl but also ready to play basketball. Don’t be afraid to be dorky or silly.
On Fans: I want a fan and I don’t like calling them fans. I feel like they are friends of mine—of course we’re not close friends because we don’t know one another but the fact that I’m making this music and I’m giving them a performance and their giving me energy back, that’s all that matters.
What Trevor wants you to take away from his music: Most importantly I don’t do music for people to want to be a singer, actor or dancer. I do it because I love it and I want to show others you can accomplish goals.
Legacy he wants to leave behind: I was a man that understood his purpose. I think purpose is the most important thing because once you understand that everything else becomes easy. I feel like a lot of people have a hard time finding what they do, or they have a job or career and not a passion. That’s miserable for me. Just find your purpose, understand that you have one life to live. YOLO!
