Social media blunders are bound to happen, but this one takes the cake. Fashion giant Armani was on hand for live coverage of the annual Governors Awards in Hollywood, keeping tabs on celebrities that chose to don their threads for the high-profile event. Legendary actress Alfre Woodard walked the red carpet in an Armani dress, but it seems someone on their social media team didn’t know who she was.
Rather than pull up Google on his/her phone, this person decided he/she would instead give Alfre another popular name; a man’s name.
“Idris Elba posing in a gorgeous Giorgio @armani dress at the 5th Annual Governors Awards,” reads the erroneous caption.
Idris can pull off almost anything in our book, but we doubt a dress is one of them. Since Armani’s major snafu, Twitter used the hilarious #ArmaniCaptions to come up with other possible scenarios. Glad to know we can all have a sense of humor about this.
Vixens: does Alfre deserve a more direct apology or should we let this one slide?
