Spring 2014 is all about prints, prints and more prints! Desigual mastered the art of unexpected printed combinations at its first New York Fashion Week show. From their black-and-white geometrical dress to their chiffon printed blouse complete with white-and-orange polka dot shorts and clutch bag it was evident Desigual was inspired by collaborator Christian Lacroix’s roots of the beautiful islands of the Mediterranean. The models were dressed in fresh stripes and tie-dye and florals as they playfully strutted down the runway, dancing to upbeat music and even kissing one another.
According to Desigual CEO Manel Jadraque, the collection was “more quiet, more sophisticated” than usual. And though we’re months away from spring, Desigual proves the season is worth the wait. — Shantoel McLeod
