Queen Latifah’s second chance at a TV show is turning out to be a good one.
The showed premiered Monday (Sept 16) with 1.7 rating among households and an appearance from Willow Smith. “Latifah pulled at .9/5 in the key daytime demo of woman 25-54, which marked an 80% spike over…making it the highest-rated daytime syndie talker premiere since Dr. Oz in 2009,” Variety revealed.
Before the show aired, the Queen stated that she’s focused on the content, “I’m not trying to throw myself out there to get ratings,” she stated. Luckily for her, it was her quality that got her the quantity.
“It’s just the beginning of how we plan to showcase all of Latifah’s talents and the quality of guest and entertainment,” executive producer Corin Nelson said in a press release.
Jamie Foxx, Sharon Stone, Will Smith, and Jake Gyllenhaal are scheduled to appear throughout the season.
