Between Matthew on Desperate Housewives, and Jerome on The Game which character do you relate the most to and which do you relate the least?
Good question I think as an actor the entire purpose that that you’re going to interject part of your personality into that character. That’s really the only experience you have to draw from. It’s going to be facades and idiosyncrasies about that character that will always be yours. I can relate to [Matthew] because I grew up like Desperate Housewives, I felt like a misfit but I also felt accepted. But in The Game I was older and I knew myself better as a person and as an actor so I would always say I can relate to Jerome better than I can Matthew.
Do you have any celebrity co-stars you love to work with?
This sounds like a diplomatic answer but honestly I never had more fun on set then the people I work with now. Callie Thorne, John Stamos, Scott Cohen are amazing people and we have a good time. We all have respect for each other and there is so much laughter everyday, even if you’re tired, had a long day or week; you can always come to work and have a great time.
You’ve done mainly TV shows; do you see yourself transitioning into movies?
TV’s been really good to me, it’s a lot of fun, it’s consistent, and you’re working a lot. I just like to work, I don’t care if its TV or film. If it’s good, fun, and appeals to me, I’m going to do it.
Any secrets to the season finale you can share?
Yes I can…I’m kidding this may sound cliché but you’ll be very surprised. I don’t want to give anything away I want people to watch it.
Okay well will we see you shirtless?
I don’t remember but I think so, it was a long time ago but my shirts off a lot in the show.
Yeah, it’s like they don’t like you shirted.
Yes, but I don’t really wear clothes that much in my real life either.
Our readers love your body, how do you stay in shape?
Ah man, eating pizza at 2 o’clock in the morning is part of it.
Are you serious?
I’ve been working out since I was 17/18 years old fairly consistently. When I’m shooting I can’t work out for 4 or 5 months so it’s mainly about diet. When I’m consistently working out I eat whatever I want. When I’m not, I try to eat more fiber and eat more protein, I balance it out that way; I don’t really eat fried foods. I’ll tell you a secret: six days a week I eat really healthy and one day a week I eat whatever I want.
