Ye is on a high right now. He just welcomed the birth of his first baby girl, his collection with A.P.C. sold out within hours and Yeezus reached number one on the charts, but in the midst of this high somebody has decided to take a trip down memory lane to visit one of Ye’s lows.
In 2009 Kanye made headlines when he ran onstage and ruined poor little Taylor Swift’s VMA moment proclaiming that Beyonce had “the best video of all time.” Recently leaked audio has surfaced of the rapper explaining just why he interrupted Swift onstage.
“Taylor Swift cannot win over Beyoncé! Because I wrote my verse to ‘Run This Town’ in two days. Taylor Swift cannot beat Beyoncé,” ranted West. “As long as I’m alive! And if I’m alive, kill me then! Kill me then! As long as I’m alive, you gon’ have to deal with it. ‘Cause there ain’t gonna be no more mother***king Elvises with no James Browns.”
And Yeezy didn’t stop there. Not only did he go for Swift but Pink was also a victim of the tirade.
“How the f**k Pink perform two songs and I didn’t even get asked to perform ‘Heartless.’ ‘Heartless’ is the biggest song of the year,” Ye complained on the recording.
The audio that was shared with Gawker is said to be a conversation secretly recorded while West was at dinner with friends at the Corner Bistro in New York, right after the VMA uproar.
