Ms. Barrino is no stranger to the Broadway stage and is heading back very soon. The Grammy–nominated songtress received critical acclaim her performance in the “The Color Purple,” and producers of the Broadway-bound “After Midnight” announced Thursday that Barrino would be their first guest star. The official opening night is scheduled for Nov. 3.
According to Yahoo! News, the show will be directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Wynton Marsalis. The show appeared off-Broadway last year at New York City Center under the name “Cotton Club Parade.” Songs include “Stormy Weather” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.”
Barrino is currently promoting her newest album, Side Effects of You.
