Kanye West album covers are both critically acclaimed and scrutinized for their controversial imagery. This year, the “New Slaves” rapper is taking his distaste with corporate heads to another level by not featuring artwork or an album booklet for the upcoming Yeezus. Instead, a plastic CD case is adorned with a small piece of red tape carrying the album’s title. Despite the intricate mock-up Kim Kardashian recently posted, Def Jam’s DJ Semtex confirms that this is the official design…or lack thereof.
“Forget everything else you have seen, this is the official artwork….No cover, booklet, just a sticker on the reverse of the package with the track list.”
Yeezus is set for a June 18 release.
