Jamie Foxx is hard at work on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but he’s already got his sights set on another project. The Django Unchained star is allegedly negotiating a role in the upcoming Annie remake.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures has offered Foxx the role of “Daddy Warbucks” alongside Quvenzhané Wallis, who will portray the title character.
Set to debut during the 2014 holiday season, Annie will be produced by Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment with some help from Jay-Z.
Shortly after the 2013 Oscars, the studio president announced Willow Smith’s replacement. “Quvenzhane Wallis is a true star and we believe her portrayal as Annie will make her a true worldwide star. She is an extraordinary young talent with an amazing range, not only as an actress but as a singer and dancer, and we can’t wait for audiences to further discover her.”
