Even on a day of praise, violence finds a way to make itself known.
A shooting occurred on Sunday (May 12) during a Mother’s Day parade in New Orleans. According to reports, 19 people were injured. Among the injured were a 10-year-old boy and girl who were both grazed by bullets. Neither one suffered major injuries.
The parade stretched for two blocks and included 400 people.
At least three people and two different types of weapons are suspected to be involved in the shooting, the police said.
They have no suspects in custody and luckily no fatalities.
