On Wednesday (Apr. 10), the Dance Theatre of Harlem will open their stage doors for their 2013 New York season.
After the companies eight-year hiatus, DTH is pleased to bring their work back to the stage for dance lovers and newbies. From April 10-14, 2013 the company will light up the The Rose Hall at Jazz at New York City’s Lincoln Center. The company is set to serve up the works of Robert Garland, Alvin Ailey, George Balanchine, Donald Byrd and other choreographers, touching on various genres of dance that incorporate spoken word, classical ballet and hip-hop.
Vixen caught up with DTH’s principal dancer Ashley Murphy as she prepares for their NYC run. “We have something for everybody,” the ballerina says.
