Howard University may have Bill Clinton, but Texas Southern University made history with their Comcast on Demand partnership.
In an interview with RollingOut Magazine, TSU’s Student Director of Public Relations spoke on this new affiliation–aptly named TSUTV on Demand–and what it means to the students. The university now has their own local channel giving ”students a real world atmosphere to apply their classroom instruction and to display their talent and creativity.”
The network is a separate entity to the school’s communication department will allow students hands-on experience in television, film, radio and other mass communication outlets.
“The Connect is our staple show which is similar in style to MTV,” the PR director said. “We focus on topics such as music, fashion, health and politics. We also have TSU Live show which features students who are musical artists, local talent and students who are making a difference in the community.”
